bismark-team-at-gatech:

Is there a spectrum analyzer available that goes past 12ghz and can sample &
hold?

(important for meeting regulatory requirements for this spectrum)

I find these incredibly useful, please get a couple. (multiple online
vendors available)

http://www.p3international.com/products/p4460.html

I don't know what the difference is between that and this:

http://www.p3international.com/products/special/P4400/P4400-CE.html

Some kind of thermocouple and oven we can use to test heat tolerance?

South africa is 230v, 50hz, is there a way to simulate that? do you already
have power supplies for this conversion? See:

http://users.telenet.be/worldstandards/electricity.htm

The socket looks like this (I think)

http://users.telenet.be/worldstandards/electricity.htm#plugs_d

Please verify with your contacts there.

This is correct. I looked at the input for the transformer, and it seems it will take the input (have personal experience with this).

We will need socket converters, however.

I recommend getting a local person who can tell you if the power is
clean enough to not just blow up the power bricks; probably the easiest
way to deal with this is to use power bricks sold locally.

As Dave can tell you too, power in many parts of the world is hazardous
to equipment's life... Just meeting the letter of what the power brick
tells you doesn't ensure it will survive any amount of real use.

Your paranoid friend,

Same as Australia then?

Back at ratbag we had *switchmode* step up power supplies for testing
these. Also step down *transformers*.

Australia uses Type I
