I just picked up 2 refurbished WNDR3800s from Newegg for about $65 each. The second refurb I bought was a dud and required a return so I'm a little shy of refurbs. (it had a rattle, likely damaged in shipping.) I am also interested hearing about anyone's successes running full featured versions of OpenWrt/CeroWrt with routers other than WNDR3700/3800. These have always come through as v2's in our experience. (WNDR37AV). But they seem to be getting scarcer too. http://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-Wireless-Router-Gaming-WNDR37AV/dp/B003Q9CI48/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1380917799&sr=8-1&keywords=wndr37av - Jim On Fri, Oct 4, 2013 at 1:33 PM, Joey Padden <J.Padden@cablelabs.com> wrote: > Bump. > > I am also interested hearing about anyone's successes running full > featured versions of OpenWrt/CeroWrt with routers other than WNDR3700/3800. > > Thanks, > Joey > > > On Sep 25, 2013, at 1:17 PM, Sandy McArthur <sandymac@gmail.com> wrote: > > I have before. Any news/thoughts as to the next recommended device? > The TP-LINK TL-WDR4300[1] is working well for me; the onboard flash is small but it has two USB ports (making it trivial to use OpenWRT's extroot support). Fully Atheros-based, so open drivers all the way down. It's dual-radio to boot. Might be more than you need, though, since the TL-WDR4300 is 300Mbps in the 2.4GHz band and 450 in the 5GHz. The TL-WDR3600[2] is a more direct analogue to the WNDR3800 (300 in both), but I have no personal experience with it. Newegg has the 3600 new[3] at the same price as the WNDR3800 refurbished[4] (about $65 US), and every once in a while the price dips down at one seller or another.
