FWIW, here's one that many sysadmins could directly relate to.
Working on a remote system over a moderately slow link, looking at a
large file (a log file, for instance), and needing to scroll down the
file. You hold down the self-repeating PgDn key until you see the place
you want to stop, but the screen continues to scroll way past the
desired stopping point.
