My slightly leaky memory says that a little work has been done with Gig
and 10 Gig ethernet, by capacity planners who saw smaller errors in
queuing-network calculations when the bandwidth was significantly
better.  Previously the "packet train" phenomenon had been making a mess
of their statistical independence assumptions, and giving them huge
errors...
