Subject: [Bloat] DOCSIS Low Latency Spec Details
Date: Wed, 2 Jan 2019 17:09:01 +0000 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <8B8899D5-763E-4AC7-849C-7C0E95F991F4@cable.comcast.com> (raw)
This late 2018 engineering change notice for DOCSIS on low latency specs may be of interest to some on this list. See https://community.cablelabs.com/wiki/plugins/servlet/cablelabs/alfresco/download?id=c7f1f492-382e-4873-b02a-17ac23dbe24a;1.0 (there's an embedded Word doc on the 2nd page with technical details).
From page 40, "Support for Low Latency Services: This additional set of features, comprised of proactive scheduling, dual-queue-coupled-AQM and Queue Protection, significantly decreases the latency experienced by packets within a Downstream or Upstream Service Flow, as they traverse the DOCSIS access link." See page 42 (Section 5.2.4.3 for further details).
