The = project involves instrumenting home networks with programmable network = gateway devices to perform active measurements of network performance = (akin to speedtest.net) and to monitor both performance and user = behavior inside the home using a combination of active and passive = network measurement techniques. The project has a number of upcoming = opportunities, including the FCC Open Internet Apps Challenge in = mid-June (see http://challenge.gov/challenges/114), for which the = candidate would play a key role in application development and = infrastructure management. This job opportunity also offers a unique = opportunity for someone with system administration and software = development experience to gain research experience in a top-tier = computer science department.
