I'm still kind of in shell shock about finding openwrt "chaos calmer"
deeply embedded in some gpon SFPs, but in those cases it's control
plane only,
not something as advanced as data plane. I wish I had a clearer
picture of the modern data center, and knew where the edge was going
to go.

The edge of the datacenter, or the edge as in where a building meets the
internet?  (either residential or commercial)
