Subject: [Cerowrt-devel] Strange auto configured DNS address
Date: Sun, 22 Jul 2012 11:45:53 -0400	[thread overview]

Hello,

I am new to the list and CeroWrt, but have been playing around quite a bit lately and am finding the project very interesting.

I am seeing a very strange phenomenon with my Mac machine using CeroWrt. I have an he.net /48 set up on the router following the instructions on the wiki…this works fine. However, when I turn on IPV6 on my Mac, it picks up two DNS addresses: the cero router IPV4 address, and for some reason, the link-local address that is shared by se00 and sw00. This address is not routable from the Mac, so the machine randomly hangs on name resolution because it sometimes tries to hit that address.

Obviously, I can fix this by forcing that address out of the resolver list, but I was just wondering if anyone else has seen this and/or can explain it.

Thanks,
Bill Katsak
