There=92s an old saying around the traps: =93Beware of programmers = with soldering irons.=94 ;-) But thanks! Having a serial line access to OpenWRT boxes has been fairly standard = over the years, and IIRC, this is about the 4th or 5th one of those I=92ve= had to do this for. Fortunately, the initial tftp-server installation = worked first time for me a few months back when I built the box. Just a word to the wise, in case anyone is trying to follow along: Do = NOT try to install git on a TDW8970 under BB (to grab Rich Brown=92s = OpenWRTScripts repository for betterspeedtest.sh etc. I ran out of = flash, and had to re-install. Instead, just copy the = latest-and-greatest from another machine. It took me a couple of hours = to figure out that the DSL firmware blob was getting blown away each = reboot, and get things back to running again, but I am now running = betterspeedtest and friends (with less than spectacular results =97 I = suspect congestion upstream since I=92ve notice that the performance is = time-of-day related, and this is prime movie-streaming time in my = neighborhood). BTW, I=92m compiling OpenWRT HEAD on an ubuntu box (from the = instructions in = http://www.acme-dot.com/building-openwrt-14-07-barrier-breaker-on-ubuntu-a= nd-os-x/). That way, I _should_ (in principle) be able to stash exactly = what I need into the build, including the kernel module required for = cake=85 Fingers crossed.
