Looks like I'm committed to helping get the ns3 code for codel, etc,
upstream now.
If anyone else is interested in coming up with useful-in-simulation
stuff this summer,
please let us know.

Subject: [Ns-developers] GSoC 2014 selections
To: ns-developers list <ns-developers@isi.edu>
Hi all,
I'm happy to announce four ns-3 GSoC projects selected for GSoC 2014:
- Piotr Gawlowicz: LTE Fractional Frequency Reuse algorithms. Piotr
will be mentored by Nicola Baldo and Marco Miozzo.
- Rubén Martínez: Licklider Transmission Protocol (LTP). I'll be the
primary mentor on Rubén's project.
- Truc Anh N Nguyen: Understanding Bufferbloat Through Simulations in
ns-3. Dave Täht and I will mentor Anh's project.
- Krishna Teja Yadavalli: Multicast IPv6 traffic support. Krishna
will be mentored by Tommaso Pecorella.
I'd like to congratulate the selected students, and look forward to
working with you over the summer.
The selection process was not easy this year, as there were multiple
worthy proposals competing for four spots. As a result, we would like
to offer an opportunity to students who were not selected but who may
want to still work on their proposed projects under separate funding.
The ns-3 Consortium will sponsor a student travel grant to next year's
Workshop on ns-3 for any student who applied to GSoC 2014, who
successfully completes his or her summer project, and who has a paper
about it accepted to next year's workshop. In the meantime, we'll try
to help as many student projects as we can with mentoring and review
through our normal processes.
- Tom
