Hi,
I flashed ceroWRT 3.7.5-2 on router WNDR3800.

If I connect:
Cable Modem -> WNDR3800 -> Computer
I can't get access to internet by wire or wi-fi.

WNDR3800 in tab:
Status -> Overview -> Network IPv4 WAN Status shows Not connected
Ping from tab:
Network -> Diagnostics shows PING 8.8.8.8 (8.8.8.8): 56 data bytes ping:
sendto: Network is unreachable

But if I put another router between Modem and WNDR3800 I'll get IP address.
Only then everything works fine:
Cable Modem -> Old Router -> WNDR3800 -> Computer
and I can access internet by wire or wi-fi.

WNDR3800 in tab:
Status -> Overview -> Network IPv4 WAN Status shows normal IP address,
dhcp, net mask etc.
Ping from tab:
Network -> Diagnostics works fine

I've tried returning to default settings and reflashing ceroWRT, no luck.
Probably there's some little DHCP setting that prevents me from obtaining
IP address directly from Cable Modem.

Thanks for your time,
qkiel

If I recall correctly cable ISPs , at least charter did, only supply a single IP address via dhcp. So if your old router's Mac is still attached to the existing lease you will not get your cerowrt connected. Try unplugging the cable modem and the router from the power outlet, let them sit a minute or so, so all caps get time to discharge (just to be on the safe side) and the dhcp server notices that you are offline for good. Connect the router's wan socket with the modem's lab socket. Plug in and power up first the modem then the router. At least that worked for me a year ago (since then I am back on a ADSL link so can not do any testing); though I seem to recall that it took me three attempts to get it working.

Hope that helps
      Sebastian

	One other thing to try is to replace the cerowrt wan mac address with the mac address of the old router, that might fool the dhcp server...
