Googling "Self Tuning Codel", the first link I get is to a 2018 post on this very list saying it's a stupid idea and probably can't be deployed.  Guess who wrote that.  :-)

Reading the paper, or at least skimming it, yields this nugget of hilarity:



I'd like to speak to whoever thinks that can realistically be implemented in a kernel module or a router at line rate, if only to ask what they're smoking.
