Hi everyone
I have now created the mab-wifi public mailing list that we agreed on at
the telco last week, and subscribed you all to it. So please use this
list in place of the CC-to-all that we have been using thus far.
The list is publicly archived at
https://lists.bufferbloat.net/pipermail/mab-wifi/ and I will send an
announcement to the make-wifi-fast list in a bit. So maybe we'll get
input from others as we progress. If nothing else, we'll have a record
of our conversations in the list archive.
When we (Thomas, Peter and I) spoke last week, Thomas presented his data
on transmission success at different rates; and we agreed that he will
continue gathering testbed data, and try to get a grip on how the
success probabilities are correlated between different rates and MIMO
configurations, and how the transmission size affects this. This should
hopefully help guide us in the definition of the arms.
Meanwhile, Peter will continue to read up on the literature on
multi-armed bandits, and I will try to get the existing Pyton-based
algorithm implementations running, so we can do some simulations with
those based on the data Thomas is gathering.
I think this roughly sums things up; if not, feel free to add anything
that I have forgotten :)
