Subject: [Make-wifi-fast] New mailing list for multi-armed-bandit rate control efforts
Date: Sat, 11 Feb 2017 19:23:57 +0100 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <8737fk7fia.fsf@alrua-karlstad> (raw)
Hey everyone
A few months ago, Björn Smedman announced an effort to improve WiFi rate
selection by using bayesian / multi-armed-bandit methods. Well, that
effort has turned into an experiment in public collaborative writing of
a research paper.
We are still in the initial exploratory phase, but have some ideas of
how to proceed. If anyone wants to follow along, there's now a mailing
list available for the discussion of the work:
https://lists.bufferbloat.net/listinfo/mab-wifi
The traffic on this list is going to be specific to the effort of
creating a new rate control algorithm; hence the separate list. General
make-wifi-fast stuff stays here, and we'll report back to this list when
there are interesting results and/or code to try out. But for those who
are interested in the details, or who want to contribute, feel free to
join us on the mab-wifi list :)
