Hi Dave,
I still have a gut feeling that leveraging 802.11e’s EDCA might be worthwile to try to tackle the txops issue. Not only do higher ACs/access categories use shorter "RF episodes” but they also get increasingly more immediate access to the air, and that might help on an AP to “manage/distribute” fairness even if the stations themselves are not cooperating. If the AP can/could tell the stations which maxumum length to use for TX that would be probably nicer, but giving the AP the option to overrule hesitant/stubborn stations might still be valueable. I assume that all stations will play nicely with 802.11e here…
Best Regards
Sebastian
