I am delighted to hear of this.

Andrew and I keep meaning to find the time to get the codel and fq_codel ns3 models pushed up into mainline ns3, and thus far, no luck.

---------- Forwarded message ----------

This note is to announce the establishment and beginning of activities
of the NS-3 Consortium.

As part of long-term planning for the continued growth and sustainment
of ns-3 and related tools, INRIA and the University of Washington have
formed a consortium, separate but in support of the open source project.
Those of you familiar with other large open source projects are
probably aware of other consortia and foundations that provide support
and funding to the open source projects; the NS-3 Consortium is
established with the same goals in mind. It is mainly intended to raise
funding for the project, but also to provide some guidance and
organizational support for administrative issues and related matters.

As founders, UW and INRIA will be the main stewards of the organization,
but we will be expanding the steering committee to provide a broader
representation of organizations and individuals who have been and will
be supporting ns-3. We will be actively seeking industrial members or
other professional organizations to participate. The below web page
provides more details:

http://www.nsnam.org/consortium/

To start the activities, we will be hosting a kickoff event hosted by
INRIA Sophia Antipolis, on Monday March 4 (the day before the workshop
on ns-3). This event will be free of charge and will feature invited
talks and tutorials. More details about the agenda will be posted at a
later date.

Finally, we plan to make it easy to find details about the consortium on
the main page of the site, so expect to see some minor changes to the
front page in the next week or so.
