[Cake] dumping my backlog of ideas

I have quite a few things accumulated that I have thought out but not done
much code for, some of which might be candidates for cake, others
for elsewhere, some may be useful, some crazy, please discuss. There
are already 17 ideas on the archive if you care to look.
