Hello to all,

It's my great pleasure to send out this email. Dave's nomination is ready
to be co-signed *HERE
<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1hRtD9xE6H9cJGQaKIXHi_f_HpoRNK4-4-lS1ZwYacXU/edit?tab=t.0>*
(Google Docs).

We are also looking for at least 2 (but the more, the better!) people that
would be willing to write us letters of recommendation that are needed to
be attached to the nomination
<https://wp.apps.internetsociety.org/wp/postel-award/nomination-form/>.

I'm please to announce, that Vint Cerf will be a nominal nominator and we
all know that Dave will appreciate it as much as we all do!

Looking forward to see co-signees pouring in, as well as volunteers willing
to write the letter.

*We need to submit it ASAP, the deadline for the nomination is July 11.*

Thank you very much.

PS: In order to learn more about the award, please visit its website

All the best,

Frank

I was very unsure if I should sign it or not, but then again. I see traces
of his work everywhere and it's hard to grasp the impact he have had on the
internet.
From the very early days when I ran a beta release of codel as a router on
an ISP back when I could do that :-) It gave us improved latency and with
just changing the variables I got other features out of it that was very
usefull back then - and all of this with improved latency and stable
throughput. Today I see traces of his work in most of the products we are
deploying. It is hard to see someone more worthy for such a nomination, and
it is sad he isn't around to see it for himself.

I had a very brief interaction with Dave last year - but then realized afterwards that he had been there guiding my path as CTO of a FTTH company in Iceland for the last 12 years through his work.

I have been involved in this industry since 1992, and I cannot think of anyone whose technical legacy has been more transformative in those 12 years – all the while without seeking the spotlight.

Hello to all,

Thank you very much for such an overwhelming support! Dave's nomination was
