Subject: [Starlink] Tonga volcano update
Date: Mon, 23 May 2022 21:24:41 +1200	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <089dedb0-b795-87e0-5bed-96ed45e840cf@auckland.ac.nz> (raw)

So the good folk at NIWA went up there on the RV Tangaroa and found
around 7 cubic kilometres of material around the volcano that wasn't
there beforehand:

Perhaps not a surprise that the cables went down, after all. Much of
that junk would have ended up on top of the domestic cable.
