<<After the launch attempt, SpaceX CEO took to his Twitter site to explain that they hadn’t quite finished the launch pad. “3 months ago, we started building a massive water-cooled, steel plate to go under the launch mount. Wasn’t ready in time & we wrongly thought, based on static fire data, that Fondag would make it through 1 launch,” he tweeted. “Looks like we can be ready to launch again in 1 to 2 months.”>>
I guess SpaceX would never have hired Roger Boisjoly.
To be honest, and maybe I'm just a cranky engineer, I think SpaceX should never be trusted ever again with anything to do with public safety after this tweet.
And perhaps sued for extreme negligence. After all, Musk announced *before the launch* that they expected serious problems.
It would be really interesting to follow the resulting trial, reviewing all the decisions made, and holding the entire management chain from bottom to top to account.
Instead, we get treated to public performances like some science fiction cowboy - "oops!"
8 engines failed in seconds? Did they actually testfire anything?
