Hi all,

I took two flights over the weekend on United, with Starlink. 200+ Mbps from gate to gate. Quite impressive.

On our second flight, while still standing in the terminal, I was able to log on to the aircraft's Starlink WiFi. That's pretty good WiFi range! A mere 30 Mbps on that connection though, with some packet loss.

Thanks Steve and all: if you encounter starlink (or other inflight
wifi) on your next flight, please have some tests per
http://tinyurl.com/starlinkuser page 2 so we can correlate too. cheers

Do you have any latency measurements? :-) You can use also our Bufferbloat
speedtest next time:

Oh I'll try that next time.

I ran ping, traceroute, Cloudflare speed tests. I've shared all that with J Pan @ UVic.

What was the weather like at the ground ends? Any rain?

For both flights, clear skies on the ground at both ends, and all the way along. No rain or snow.

Thanks Steve! and for those of interest, please see the ocr'ed below.
this flight from ewr to pwm is all under the new york city pop, so no
ipv4 or ipv6 change for this connected phone, other than the temporary
connection to at&t 5g+ while the phone is still at the gate in the
terminal due to the high packet loss (17.5%) to the starlink wifi
router in the metal can instead
