Ulrich,
Thanks for the article re "Starlink banned in Tonga".
I live in Tahiti and depend on DSL with very poor service.
French Polynesia has a problem as its inhabitants are scattered over an
area the size of Europe on 84 islands.
It would seem that Starlink would be a perfect, economical solution for
Polynesia's communication problem.
However, that would compete with the government-owned communication
provider. Thus the government is taking a long time to decide upon
authorization.
I can find little information in public media as to the deliberations about
the decision.
I have applied to Startlink but no indication if and when operation is
permitted.
Maybe you could shine some light on the subject.
I hear many are bringing their terminals from France and operating fine
here. Should I do the same?
