Interference might be intentional or unintentional. It will be advantageous to see how this Direct-to-Cell (or to smartphone, or to device) feature can be used in some useful manner, such as crime scene resolution where there is no ground 'tower' but some sat was there and heard that this or that smartphone was connected or not.
