Well, you should.  If the GPS loses its copy of the ephemeris it can
take 30 mins, or longer, to get locked again.  Since the ephemeris is
good for many weeks that is a minimum hold-up time in standby mode.

A good battery should last 10 years.  Given the added NRE and BOM costs
of a replaceable battery compared to the current BOM I can live with
that.

And once again, please  forward to the thumbgps list if this gets
blocked.  Some spam filter somewhere keeps blocking my posts.
